Nothing Ever Happens Here by Sarah Hagger-Holt

5.0

Truly such a beautiful novel, heartfelt, realistic, and funny. I felt like I was in high school with Izzy, the book was so immersive.
At first I was hesitant to read a book about trans issues written by a cisgender person, but I was pleased to discover that Sarah Hagger-Holt not only has lived experience of being LGBT but works for Stonewall and has published LGBT parenting books previously. The story is informed by interviews with trans parents and their children, collected in preparation for her parenting books, and transformed into a stunning YA novel.
