Unico: Awakening by Osamu Tezuka, Samuel Sattin and Gurihiru [Scholastic Canada #gifted]

Based on the original manga by Osamu Tezuka, Unico: Awakening is the first in a new graphic novel series that follows the adventure across space and time of Unico, a young unicorn who has angered the evil goddess Venus - just for existing. For this, he is unicorn-napped and banished, with all his memories erased. But the West Wind who has been tasked with this, has a kind heart and decides to rescue him. When Venus realizes that Unico is still around, she sets off to destroy Unico once and for all. As Unico wakes up to new world after new world, he does his best to befriend those around him, and he'll have to rally before Venus finds him.

This was a fun and magical adventure to read, along with the cutest and most powerful little unicorn by the name of Unico. Readers will not be able to help but root for this unicorn who has not done anything wrong to be the target of Venus and her minions.
