This has easily become one of my favourites. I did not know the history of Julius Caesar, and I had a really fun time learning it through Shakespeare. I loved all the foreshadowing leading up to Caesar's death (especially the pathetic fallacy of the bad night). Cassius and Brutus are both idiots. I mean, why would you turn on each other after collectively planning the murder of another??! Shakespeare has, yet again, outdone himself. This is probably one of those rarest plays where I do not require a translation alongside because I understand it perfectly well and clear. I give this play 3.75 stars, but round it down to ⭐️⭐️⭐️ on Goodreads.
