This is the second book in the Living Legend series, a fantasy romance about angels and demons, and the blurred lines between good and evil. Tropes and themes include found family, mental health rep (PTSD), touch him and die, POC FMC, morally gray FMC, hurt/comfort and light vs dark. Please see trigger warnings for adult content.
The Lovely: While I still love the FMC, Dani, on a deep level (including her sass), I came to love the MMC in this book. I think in book one he seemed a little too golden retriever/perfect. But, in this second book he struggles and pushes others away as he tries to deal on his own. To me, this made him feel more fleshed out and realistic. I truly felt for him and wanted him to thrive. And, of course, for Dani to help him.
Rating: 4/5 Stars 3/5 Flames Recommendation: After listening to the audiobook of book one I had to dive into book two for some answers. The end of this book is a wild ride and we almost, almost got an answer to a question that has been plaguing me since early in book one. So cruel! The third and final book, Live Like Legends, will be released at the end of January 2025.
