Overall Thoughts:
⁕ This book is so balanced in terms of pacing and mood. I was hooked from the very first page and experienced every emotion from grief to tenderness to humor while reading.

⁕ Not only is this book littered with the best YA tropes, but Deonn does a BRILLIANT job of analyzing them in the context of race, class, and gender. I was particularly struck by her exploration of the knights of the round table in relation to white supremacy and injustice.
⁕ I LOVE how well developed the non-romantic relationships are, especially between the MC and her dad and best friend.
⁕ My only complaint (and it’s a weak one) is that there are a lot of characters with three letter names and I kept getting them mixed up 😂
