Snow Falling by Jane Gloriana Villanueva

3.0

Snow Falling is a fun, quick read for fans of Jane the Virgin.

The show is a masterly-done adaptation of traditional telenovelas and its self-awareness of tropes and overdone plots makes up for its lack of originality.
This book, on the other hand, does not win on either account. It's fan-fiction, reworking the show's plot into the HAE that the protagonist wish she had gotten. And while this works in Jane's narrative, in the real world, this novel is only worth for nostalgia that loving fans feel after finishing the show.

I really enjoyed reading this book as something light, fun, and that didn't require much mind power. As a fan of the show, I already knew the characters, the plot, the twins and turns. But that didn't make this a boring read - it was fun in a cheap-thrill kind of way.
