What Once Was Mine by Liz Braswell
4.0

of all the twisted tales, i think this is the one i was the most excited about -- with the most creative premise to boot! leagues more entertaining than straight on till morning which i read a year or two ago. that book was long for no reason and this one fully retold the story of Rapunzel in a way befitting of a teenaged boy making up a story for his sick sister. i laughed, i gasped, and gothel still died at the end (all around a great time!) i could go on and on about the way this book properly subverted all my expectations of a tangled retelling but i'll leave it here <3 very good indeed!
