Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Did not finish book. Stopped at 50%.
The concepts/premise for this book sound right up my alley... unfortunately, the execution lacked, and I was bored stupid.

Celaena Sardothien is the world’s most famous/deadly assassin. How do I know this  you may ask... she tells you repeatedly within her internal monologues, to say she is one of the least humble characters I have ever read is an understatement she is like a female version of Gaston from Beauty & The Beast, thinks they are the shit but doesn't do much if anything to prove it. She is so full of bravado, and all she seems preoccupied with is what she is wearing and if the MMCs find her atteactive. Vapid is not a character trate i'm interested in reading hundreds of pages of. I'm pretty sure I strained my eyeballs with how hard I rolled them at the first half of this book, the fact I got to halfway through and nothing of interest had really happened I just couldn't anymore. If your first book in an epic fantasy series isn't engaging and intriguing enough to hook someone within the first 50% of said book, you're doing something wrong in my opinion. I refuse to slog through/have to read over 3/4 of a books for the plot to get interesting or multiple books in a series to get to the "good" ones.
