Seven Year Switch by Claire Cook
4.0
Seven Year Switch is "chick-lit" perfect for the beach. It's short and sweet and filled with likable characters. And, yet, it offers a reminder to all of us to make sure we keep our sense of self, and that we don't let others control our destiny. Jill Sanders nas been treading water since her husband, Seth, left her seven years ago, surviving, but not really living her dreams. She has surrendered her sense of self to being the uber-mom to her only child, not really moving on from the hurt she felt when Seth took off. Then, she meets a new man just as her Seth pops back into town to try and start over. Jill feels torn between what she wants to do and what she thinks she should do for her daughter. Finally, she realizes she has to take care of herself first, before she can take care of anyone else. This is a great beach read, but also just a fun read for any time of year!
