this story made me tear up more than a couple of times! I love getting to revisit this world every time a new special edition comes out and with this emotional backstory of Lila and her having to navigate it all being hearing impaired, this story was (surprisingly for an alien romance) a simmering slow burn. I am always fascinated by ruby dixon's ability to move the plot along with each book always having new discoveries about the planet and their new lives.
I was not the biggest fan of Lila's sister Maddie in this book so it will be an interesting test of her character's likability to see if I end up liking her when her book comes out in May.
As always, you can always trust a sakhui male to be utterly obsessed with their mate and Rokan does not disappointHE FUCKING ASKS HER TO TEACH HIM ASL AND IS EXTREMELY INTENTIONAL ABOUT INCLUDING HER IN ALL CONVERSATIONS SWOON.
