Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb
adventurous
slow-paced
- Loveable characters? Yes
3.0
Finally, a first in a series with a complete plot with some (a lot) loose ends to tie in later in the series. It did feel like a complete story in and on itself, which i aopreciate.
I did like the characters even though i couldn't relate all of the time.
World building is very not in your face, which felt very organic to me as a reader.
The plot itself felt a little all over the place, also, from the title and the blurb i expected the assasin's trainings arc to be a main point in the story, and it wasn't. To me, it was a coming of age story first with some low detailed training
All in all, a solid first in a series, will continue reading and look forward to, hopefully, more interactions with the fool and more details on the magic system and the politics.
