I already enjoyed this volume more than the first one, and towards the end it good really good!
I think Izuku having to work hard and use his intellect and observations skills as opposed to a natural given talent is a unique and interesting concept, and just makes me want to cheer him on more. A lot of shounen protagonists are rather dumb and impulsive and sort of power through - Izuku doesn't yet have the luxury of depending on his powers and needs to be clever and strategic. I enjoy this character far more than the aforementioned typical shounen protagonist.
I thought it was great seeing Bakugo's reactions and gave his character more depth.Him experiencing inferiority for the first time and it causing him to have a panic attack and cry was a surprise - but felt realistic. I am looking forward to seeing his character development in the manga too.
And of course the last part of this volume is super suspenseful and definitely a highlight. Aizawa was super cool and it's already becoming apparent that he is more caring and heroic than one would expect at first sight.
The only negative was the inclusion of Mineta's perv antics, which I hate - and that is the only reason I didn't give four stars.
