In honor of us finally discussing this book at book club I figured I would post the review. Never Whistle At Night is a short story horror anthology written by all indigenous people. For me short story anthologies are always hit or miss. I have a hard time accepting that some stories just end with little to no resolution. For me this anthology was up and down in terms of how much I liked each one. I did like that many leaned into the sociopolitical side of horror for indigenous people. But some stories fell flat for me and seemed like more of a slog than others. I do love that this exposed me to many new indigenous authors to follow!
