Sister, Maiden, Monster by Lucy A. Snyder

adventurous challenging dark emotional mysterious tense medium-paced

5.0

This was brilliantly horrific! I am usually a big squeamish baby. I still am. I had so many times when I had to set the book down and have a full body shudder with some blech noises. I literally became the embodiment of the green face grossed out emoji. Despite this, I couldn't stop reading. The story was compelling and complicated. Starting with what felt like science and ending in a Lovecraftian nightmare.

This is why you go to local indie bookstores and chat with employees. You get brilliant wonderful recommendations.

Thank you Sammie at Anderson's in Naperville. I will never emotionally recover from this!
