Give it Up: He Sees You When You're Sleeping / Some Like It Hot / Playing Doctor by Lori Foster

4.0

I received an eARC of the book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Lori Foster is one of the first authors that I encountered when I started reading mainstream romance and hence, she has always been on my auto-buy list :D

I don’t really do novellas unless of course it is part of a series, but since it was Lori Foster , of course I had to give it go!

Some Like It Hot – This is the typical story of friends to lovers, except one of the protagonists is in a relationship and the other believes that love is unattainabl. This is the simplest stories of all three novellas in this anthology. It has no drama *well not much* and it is the easiest of all to get through – and that is why this was my least favourite. I liked the characters really, I did and the writing is pretty much perfect but it is the plot that flounders – and as much as I would like to, it just isn’t possible to like it as much as I would have liked to.

Playing Doctor - Now this was more to my liking – it had a depth to the character that just wasn’t present in the first novella, but it still lacked the flair I needed to enjoy it fully! Again, the writing was perfect, as well as the characters – but I would have loved it bit more of the intense communication that Lori Foster is well known for!

He Sees You When You're Sleeping – Now this! THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT! This is the exact kind of romance that Foster is known for and honestly this was the best of the bunch! It had the snarky sarcastic dialogues that I love – a cocky playboy hero and the sort of love that simply warms your heart! Best of the bunch, this novella is the only reason why this anthology got a 4 Star rating!
