Locked Doors by Blake Crouch

4.0

Before I say anything about the book, I have to say that Blake Crouch is one of the most underrated writers of recent times. His usage of words moves me immensely. He has a very poetic way of forming sentences that keeps me hooked. Every scene of his comes alive. Some of the plot was so scary that I avoided looking around me while reading the book in bed at night.

Locked Doors was not as gripping as Desert Places. It did pick up its pace in the later half. Very thrilling. But I didn't enjoy some of the characters, especially Violet. The climax felt a bit phony too. Luther did induce some horrifying nightmares.

All in all, it was Crouch's writing that kept me going, more than the plot. I am definitely checking the next book in the series.
