My second R F Kuang book, and I have the same issues with the both of them. The ending doesn’t live up to the tension of the rest of the book and I think Kuang reaaaally hammers in the themes she does in a way that makes me feel like she doesn’t trust the reader to figure stuff out themselves. Otherwise, it’s a cool book and a cool concept! I really hated June and that made me want to see the end of her story even more.
