To Catch a Firefly by Emmy Sanders
5.0
Oh my, this story has got me good, by the end I felt that I had read something precious and I feel that I have witnessed a deeper level of love that not many people experience.
We first meet the MC's as children. Ellis and Lucky have a really unique kinship that is just between them. Ellis isn't mute but he doesn't voice his words very much, Lucky doesn't need his words, he can hear his words from his eyes and expressions. This friendship deepens and they are unbreakable. However, Lucky is a ball of energy and needs adventure. Now adults, Lucky moves with his job and dynamics change. We see Lucky travelling with his job and having meaningless flings but he and Ellis remain in touch. Ellis is one of those characters that you know is just pure and loyal. His glasswork is his declaration of his love and Lucky is his muse. It takes a moment for Lucky to realise that if Ellis was to date someone else, he wouldn't like the feelings that thought evokes. This is the turning point and once they get things figured out the story takes off. This story is based in Nebraska where tornadoes are very real. These two encounter one that is particularly terrifying, however, Lucky is always safe when he is with Ellis; always. Their intimacy is hot and steamy, despite it being new for Ellis. So many sweet quotes throughout this book and the firefly anaolgy runs all the way through and is just the perfect way for Ellis to describe Lucky. These two had me crying happy tears and any romance reader will adore them. Such a HEA and a bonus epilogue with another chapter to their life. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
