Stephanie Garber is wonderful and I absolutely loved this introduction to this trilogy. I t was so great seeing more of Jacks and how he fits into this other part of the world Garber has created. Evangeline is also such an interesting character and I really can't wait to see more of what she will do in the upcoming books. The magic and legends created here were so cool and I was completely captivated by what was happening. The suspense and plot twists were done so well and left me guessing in a way that wasn't too obvious. There were some things I could guess, but the reasons why are more hidden and I really liked that. This world is so magical and so detailed. I truly love Garber's books and I am so excited to see where the trilogy goes, especially thanks to that cliffhanger.
