Overall, the series is a whole is fantastic. I love the world building. It was really rich and unique. It was refreshing that it wasn't a retelling of anything that I knew of. I like setting of the World War two era but with fantasy elements. The romance really worked for me. I liked the rivals to lovers. By the end, I felt like Iris and Roman were really matched.
However, the first book is too much romance and not enough fantasy. The second book is too much fantasy and not enough romance. I just want to take Divine Rivals and Ruthlesss Vows, put 'em back together into one book, and then separate it again. Either one book or spread out the plot and romance between the two books more evenly.
