“Sometimes we keep things from those we love for reasons we don’t even understand ourselves.”

After I read TSLD and it ended with I love the story of the book, nd it leads me to this 2nd book of TSLD by Elena Armas and I had a pretty high expectation for it bcs I remember I like Rosie, Catalina's bff, in the first book. So, yeah, I give it a go.

Rosie quit her job to become a romance writer but now she has a teribble writer's block to continuing her book. And then she can't pay her apartment cost and she decided to go to her bestfriend's apartment to live in there for temporary moments. But she didn't know, Catalina lend her apartment to her cousin, Lucas. So they accidently met in the apartment. Rosie can't find another place to live, so Lucas offers to Rosie to stay until she find another place to live. And then he proposes an dating experiment to break her writer's block so she can meet her deadline.

The good thing that I got from TARE but I don't get it in TSLD is I got 2 POVs here, Rosie's and Lucas', and I'm pretty satisfied with it bcs it helps me to know more about the main characters' feeling/seeing/thinking.

But after I finished this book, I came to an conclusion that I liked TSLD more than this book. The reason:
- Rosie is pretty diappointing. I like her in TSLD bcs she is such a cheerful and bubbly character. But in here, Idk what say, I feel like she acts like a teenager?? especially when it comes to Lucas, I feel she is too obsessed to him, well okay at first it just sooo cute to imagined it but later... it become pretty annoying for me. And the way she quit her stable job just for gambling her life into an unstable job shows that she's pretty immature to me.
- Lucas, definitely nah to me. I don't like Lucas' way of thinking and when he throws sexual innuendo about Rosie. It so nah nah nah..  NOPE!
and he promise he won't fall in love for her, but in the end he fall for her, but then leave? what an irresponsible guy.
While I also enjoyed the way he compliment, saying sweet things, and cooks Rosie. So, he's not fully unlikeable tho.
- Catalina, omg! she's pretty annoying in here, every single conversation with Rosie with her, she's stubborn and always judging/forbid Rosie and Lucas so they wouldn't date. And I didn't really get her alibi to forbid them to date??!

The romance? Well... it's a slow-burn romance too, but somehow I find the way Lucas or Rosie feel and think about each other is cringe. And I think that they're such a mismatch..

Overall, it's not a bad book, it just... nothing new or special.. Oh and if you wondering, TSLD and TARE can be read per se. So it doesn't matter if you want to read just one of them without reading another.
