To be perfectly honest, I find most historical fiction dreadfully boring. I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this one going into it, but every so often when I decide to take a chance on a book I'm not already 100% sold on, it pays off. Highly recommend to everyone.

If you're like me and typically avoid historical fiction, please just give this one a shot. The writing is beautiful and the plot packs a punch.
