"I have a high regard for human happiness."
First Agatha Christie novel I read, and I understand perfectly why she is called the Queen of Crime!
It is fast-paced, which makes you want to keep turning pages again and again. The writing style is simple and to the point, *which makes every single sentence count*. Every detail, every fact, every word is a clue.
I wanted to read it before watching the movie, to see if I could figure out the murderer...Well, I figured out three crimes, which I am very proud of: Mr Perrington, Tim Allerton and Joanna Southwood, and Richetti. As for the murderers who killed Linnet, Louise and Mrs Otterbourne...... I did not. I SUSPECTED that Simon and Jacqueline were working together to get Linnet's money at the beginning but after the murders actually *happened* and they both had alibis... I foolishly push them aside from any suspicion. But that plan of theirs was intriguing and brilliant!
I can't wait to watch the movie, and most importantly to read more books from Agatha Christie! 😁
