I like the idea of this but I thought it was poorly executed. None of the characters bar Ada get any real back story. It's difficult to care about any of them when all we get is a paragraph summing up their sad lives. This would have benefited so much from giving entire chapters over to each member of the gang. As it is it just felt very flat and like an early draft of a story that needed more time spent on it.
