David Copperfield by Charles Dickens
5.0
I did it! I finished this immense book and I'm so happy I finally read it.
For anyone intimidated by it being a classic and being so big, don't be. The writing is not difficult to understand, which is especially nice for non-english readers and beginners to classics. It's a brick, but taking it chapter by chapter it's absolutely do-able, and I managed to read it (1 or 2 chapters a day) in less than two months. Just take it slow and enjoy emerging yourself in the story for a while.
The story itself is just good. We follow the life of David Copperfield, in which there's massive highs and lows and we meet many people that have a big impact on David's life. I enjoyed following his life from a little boy to a grown man, his struggles with love, finding and losing people. These are stories I don't read enough, but love. So many characters to root for, but also enough that annoy the hell out of me.
