This is book one in the first Assurance Security duet, and follows a pregnant omega on the run from a stalker. Tropes and themes include omegaverse, nesting, knotting, pregnancy, why choose, stalker, millionaire alphas, marriage of convenience, and mate marks. This book has a fair amount of spice (group/mf only) and dark themes (I.e human trafficking) so please check content warnings.
The Lovely: I love the FMC, Vale, in this story and how she’s always trying to make things work out and take care of others. It was so heart warming when she got up in the middle of the night to comfort an alpha because she could feel something was wrong.
The Mundane: This story is fast-paced, especially in terms of intimate encounters. While not surprising relating to one of the alphas, I was surprised by how fast things happen with the other two. I’d rather have spent some time getting to know the alphas a bit first.
Rating: 4/5 Stars 3/5 Flames
Recommendation: Well, I thought I knew what was coming near the end and then - nope! Plot twist. Rarely am I caught that off guard so it’s fun when it does happen. The cliffhanger packs an emotional punch and I’m diving into book 2 right away.
