The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White

dark emotional tense fast-paced

4.5

I enjoyed the story so much. I adore A.J.W's writing, it's very simple and easy to understand. Some of this was a little hard to read but I managed. What bothered me most was the misogyny that was throughout this book. That was hard to swallow, that was more horrific to me than the actual horror parts.
It's so sad that in actual history Men saw women as nothing more than weak minded servants there to cater to every whim. Bring up the children, cook, clean and not have a single independent thought in their heads.
You must not enjoy sex, and you must be made up and out of bed with breakfast made, the children dressed and already downstairs before the Man even gets up. I could never. I probably would have been one of those sad spinsters or even worse labeled a Witch and executed.
Some men still treat and see women as such and that's just the sad truth of the world we live in. Let me beat you and you have to take it with a smile otherwise there's something wrong with YOU. Absurd.

Amazing Story!! 👏🏻 I hope A.J.W continues writing more books so I can dive into all his little world's no matter how hard they might be to read.
