Mind of My Mind by Octavia E. Butler
5.0
I LOVE THIS BOOK! At first, I found it detached from the first one and would have disliked that, but I later found out that the first book was a prequel for Anyanwu's (Emma's) ark and this book was written and published before. But I am glad I read it in this order, the order in which Ms. Butler wanted us to read.
Mind of My Mind starts slow because you keeping looking for that familiar Doro vs. Anyanwu theme and it's not there. Instead, you meet a whole new generation of complex telepaths. After the middle, the book picked up such pace, I might not as well have blinked.
I cannot believe how amazingly impressive Octavia Butler is at creating characters. She will dig so much deeper into their cores and psychology, it's scary.
I have a lot to say about this book, a review isn't enough. I just want to conclude that Octavia Butler has become one of my top three favorite writers of all time. I am addicted to her writing and won't find sanity until I finish all her books.
