A Crown of the Gods by S.M. Gaither
3.0
I’ll be honest, I had a hard time with this one. It’s not out on audiobook yet so I read the ebook and that’s probably why I struggled (so 100% a ME problem). A huge chunk of this is war planning and strategizing and political intrigue which is not my thing. I can get by and manage while listening to an audiobook but reading it is definitely a struggle for me. I WILL SAY that it is VERY well written and its very clear that the author did a lot of planning before writing this and I absolutely appreciate that.
That being said, it was mostly politics, internal commentary about politics, talking about politics, or drawn out action scenes for the first 60% of the book. Needless to say, I did quite a bit of skimming. The last 20% was CRAZY THOUGH!
There is definitely more scenes with Cas and Elander together finally! I missed their interactions in the last book. They spend a lot of time learning how their new powers are connected to each other’s and the spice was DEFINITELY turned up a notch and I loved that they got to be a little more romantic with each other too.
This left me with lotssss of questions about sooo many different things. This does leave off on a pretty massive cliffhanger and I believe we have to wait until March for the next book “The Queen of the Dawn.”
