This book pick up straight where conquered left us !
Malum wants ( and suceeds ) to take Safiya as his Inert.
Safiya shouted for her Men and I really hoped the would hear her and come barreling but alas Malum took her to his Palace and she is once again a slave.
This book new addition: the guys POV !!
That's right we get their thought
Anguish, Love, Worry, Anger the list is long
What was a great plot point was the fact they waited and plan how they would get her back
Even though we all wanted ( them and us reader) to go break the palace door the second she was taken, it was realistically not possible
Malum is way too strong and they had once chance.
The atmosphere is pretty heavy for a good chunk of the book. It lighten a bit but not much when they get Safiya's back
As malum is still a threat and they know one place to go where they could be safe from him for a time.
while the scenes between the guys and Safiya are tainted by the threat of malum above their head
The love and acceptance they have for each other is everything
And I will add the way the : you don't have to be guilty or ashame for something you don't have control on/isn't responsible was really well done it was explained greatly ( in a way better way I am making it in my review )
Meriah removed her pinked lenses glasses and see the Khesere, Malum and the way they treat the Inert for what it's really is.
I was happy to see she was an ally and the only thing she needed was to be help to open her eyes.
Malum is pictured as cruel in conquered and boy he played his role well in Captured. The really really few moments the author manage to make me pity him she destroyed and took them back making the hatred for him point his face.
I like the contrast between the two books
Book 1 Safiya went to no trusting anyone to lobe five of them
And book 2 Safiya while being captive again had finally something to rely on and to held on to keep afloat.
