Read this because it was compared to My Brilliant Friend. I see why they are compared but this one felt more shallow and I didn't feel as connected to the characters. There were a few observations towards the end that redeemed it a bit, but I would have preferred to have these messages woven in with a little more subtlety. In the end, this was okay with some nuggets of great potential. The audiobook narrator was great.
