this was honestly so good. Kuang writes June in such a way that you as the reader know she's in the wrong, yet at times you almost start to root for her before remembering "hey wait a minute". the writing was so addicting and easy to read. I'd say if you're looking for something less daunting to read from her, this is where to start

I've gone back and forth as to how I feel about the ending, but I think it was a good choice. with this type of person and this type of character, there's not really giving up or admitting defeat. so the cycle just restarting again just makes so much sense
