Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

4.0

This book feels very current now, with the commentaries on the press and selective reporting, as well as riots due to unaddressed race relations. I never realized this as this is the first time I'm reading the series in English. I find it difficult with this one to accept that "it's just a fantasy novel. The imagery seems well-intentioned what with Hermione advocating with S.P.E.W. and everything, but it unfortunately falls short. There are so many great moments in this book and I love it for those moments, but I think it's important to be aware of the many flaws that exists in it as well.
