The Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak
5.0
Read it before you die! Not kidding!
Oh god, where do I even start? I have never been moved by a book so much. This one connected to me on deepest levels of my soul and heart.
The writing is just so good and the plot, the plot is so so good, all along I felt I was the character I was reading about. The character so specific yet so general. I am pretty sure, each and everyone can relate to the characters in one way or another.
The meaning behind the book > It's to realize that not everything is black and white in this world. Don't hate on each other for having different opinions on things. And in religious perspective, remember that god is forgiving but at the same time, remember god is forgiving for everyone else but you! Don't feel free to do what ever you want! That's not the true meaning. Submission is highest forms of freedom.
The anti-islamic nature > Some might say that this book had an anti-islamic 'air' to it but NO! It's not about what the words literally mean, the real meaning behind it all is far from anti-islamic. Read it again!
100% recommended to everyone!
