Has the makings of a good series. I was actually enjoying majority of the book until her family arrived (found by old mate, the king) and they are laughing and chatting at the dinner table, or whatever it was. Then, the king choosing to sit down and have dinner with them and everyone is hysterically laughing? They weren’t simply lighter scenes to counteract the heavy ones that follow, they were just bad and didn’t fit right with what was seemingly appearing to be a semi decent romantasy book.
