This was a 4 star for me up until about 65% into the book. I get that both MCs had messed up parents/trauma that made them the way they are but Reid HEAVILY leaned into their inability to communicate about EVERYTHING. It was miscommunication tope on steroids.
I usually find Reid’s books to be enjoyable and this one was for the most part but I did find myself getting annoyed with the characters near the end and also there is never a legit reason as to why Byron loves Winnie forever nor a conversation as to why he calls her Fred (though we can infer I think it would help understand his love more.
I guess the “I just liked you after knowing you and seeing you all the time” is fine but not when he’s like literally obsessed with her and she’s disliked him for 6 years of knowing him? Idk I just felt it tapers out and I enjoyed it but wouldn’t read it again at all.
