The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt
5.0
I don't normally read westerns, so this was out of my usual radar for novels, and it was brilliant. Vibrant, lively, sparkling dialogue that powers an unpredictable plot filled with realistic, fully realised characters.
The book's central character dynamic is between Eli and Charlie, the two brothers, and it's a brilliant drive to hang the plot onto - all of the characters in the book shine though, even Eli's horse has a part to play in making the book charming and immersive.
