My love for a solid Meghan Quinn book knows no bounds. Whenever I get my hands on one that I truly loved, I don't shut up about it. Well, prepare to hear me wax poetic about this baby for quiet some time.
📕 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The Path to Loving Him by Meghan Quinn
📙 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: Almond Bay character series. Book 3.
📗 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: E-book ARC on Kindle. 🆓️ on KU
📘 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗲: Small town romance
📔 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: Sports (baseball), hidden identity, ONS, forced proximity, single dad, grief journey
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Ryland is struggling with his priorities as a guardian to his niece and a coach to his baseball team when he's forced to hire a mysterious new assistant coach, who happens to be his unforgettable one night stand, Gabby
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: This is one of those five star reviews you don't share with the author, because I am going to be real with you. All of 2024, I struggled with MQ. I DNFed two of her books, which never happened to me - her writing is usually a guaranteed four-star rating or above - and I felt a little lost.
But I think I knew when she announced Ryland's book that I would love it - a broody, quiet guardian to his eclectic niece who is dealing with generational trauma and a deep grief journey? Always sign me up. And I freaking LOVED this book.
The relationship between Gabby and Ryland felt meant-to-be, like a contemporary romance fated mates scenario. These two could only fit together, and I loved that. The book kicked off with great banter and some solid spice, and then kept going through pivotal scenes and intense emotions. These characters healed with each other, and I still got some really incredible laughs along the way. I
In that wonderful Meghan Quinn way, she also gave us some great scenes with the other Almond Bay couples that helped cinch up this little family and their love stores.
I'd still sell my soul for an Abel book, but overall the Almond Bay series has been pretty great, and I am so happy this book lived up to my internal expectations.
