Men We Reaped by Jesmyn Ward
5.0
A brutal memoir laced with grief that tells the story of growing up as poor and Black in the South, as well as the story of five men Jesmyn Ward knew and lost in the span of four years. In telling their stories, as well as her own, Ward writes about systemic racism, poverty, hopelessness, drug abuse, and mental health issues, and how they are all interconnected. A powerful memoir that I highly recommend!
