SpoilerThis book is so much better than the first one. The ending was SHOCKING. I didn't see that coming at ALL.

The book overall was also A+.The writing is so captivating. I loved the angst between Jude and Cardan. Even though Jude had the power to force Cardan what to do, they seemed to be equals which was nice. You also get a lot of Cardan's backstory which explains him being an ass earlier on and it's actually realistic and not a quick mention. Wow, YA done right. Also, Jude is such a strong female character without being this perfect inhuman person. She still has flaws and grows slowly trough the story. I hate how most YA just change the characters at the end for plot instead of actually work towards charcater growth, but this one really did it right for me.

Of course the book has some flaws. The policital scheming which was so important for the plot, was sometimes lacking for the romance or drama and the side charcaters aren't really worked out that well (Taryn keeps going from left to right?). Most of it could even be improved with some quick revisions. However, the last 100 pages were amazing. So much sitting on the edge of your seat action, great dialogue, THE PLOT TWIST AT THE END. I flew trough it and I couldn't really be bothered by the flaws. So much happened in this short book, I'm living for all the betrayal. The hype is REAL and the last book better not dissapoint.
