It's hard to review this book. It is a book that is stunning both in prose in content. However, I struggled a lot with it's slow pace. This books tells us of an history too little told. I'm glad I read it because not only did I learn of these events, but it also illuminated the unique contribution of women in this conflict. A touching light on the resilience of a people in the face of european colonization.
