I should have a higher standard of slumming than this.

This gem's highlights include a main character brimming with internalized misogyny, POC skin tones described with food metaphors,* shoddy plotting & characterizations, all the sexism, and prose flailing under the torturous flourishes of its own extra purple weight. (See what I did there?)

I may have missed a few other issues, but I really want to scrub my brain clean of this mess. But hey, at least the world building was neat.

*Ok, the character is probably closer to ambiguously brown, but still. Just don't.
