Allegedly by Tiffany D. Jackson

5.0

Allegedly is that rare book that is both uncomfortable to read and is still a page-turner. We follow Mary, accused and convicted at 8 years old of the murder of baby Alyssa, to her life at 16 years old in a group home. We learn of Mary's past and present and her hopes for the future ... but it's all dynamic and fractured. So many layers to this book, you literally don't find out the truth until the last page. As Jason Reynolds says on the back, "Allegedly, undoubtedly, will linger long after it's over." This one will be with me for a while.
