Before starting to read this series I had already watched the first season of Will Trent so I knew a few of the characters going into it. Overall this story is rather dark and it gets dark quick and just when you think things can't get worse, they somehow do. There were a few times that I was very very worried for several of the characters because of how badly things were going for them and how dire it looked. I was not able to put together all the pieces of this mystery until right before it was revealed because of the twists and turns and then maybe this means something, and maybe it doesn't that I kept going back and forth on when it came to how certain people interacted together. I'm happy with the way it ended and I'm glad we did get a nice wrap-up of this particular case without any loose ends. I cannot wait to start book two and see what case Will Trent takes on next! P.S. This one does have several trigger warnings that you might want to look at before you start this series.
