The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
4.0
I’m sure it is baffling to some that I have never read this book before as a child or even seen any film adaptation of the story, but now as an adult I wholeheartedly regret not reading this sooner. It is so creative and fantastical and especially listening to the audiobook, it was truly a pleasure to read.
I’ve still not fully come around to audiobooks, they just aren’t my personal preference, however Tituss Burgess was a brilliant narrator for this wonderful book. I listen to audiobooks whilst walking my dog and this was perfect to listen to as I was strolling in the countryside.
The one thing I picked up on a lot was how much murder and death there is in the story?! I honestly never knew this was the case!
I would like to continue with this series by L. Frank Baum at some point in the future. Sometimes its just nice to escape into a fantasy land and Oz certainly is very curious.
4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
