Death Knocks Twice by Robert Thorogood

4.0

This is the third book in the Death in Paradise series with a very grumpy, hot and flustered DI Richard Pool.  This story deals with a now defunct British empire, colonialism, slavery and a well respected, old white plantation family.   However, the family has some very dark, sordid secrets that need to be uncovered to solve this double murder.  I found the ending difficult to read and there was a sadness in the story being told.  However, a body in a locked room, conspiracy theories flying all over the place, suspects lying to police and you have a brilliant page turning murder mystery.
