The Book of Ivy by Amy Engel
5.0
I absolutely loved this book. I might even consider it my favorite dystopian. The book itself feels like a mixture between The Selection, Matched (but wayyyyyy better), and The Giver. Ivy Westfall is such an interesting, flawed character who I love. She annoyed me some times, but in the end I loved how she held her opinions and was so soft. I hated her family, for a lot of the novel. I could tell they were ruthless and just wanted power and were using Ivy as their pawn. But it backfired, and they didn't love her enough to risk their lives to save her. She was just a disappointment to them, after all. Bishop Lattimer is such an interesting character, one who fell for Ivy, and was patient in waiting for her to fall in love. I would like to proclaim that BishopXIvy is my official OTP because I ship them sooooo hard. I love how the fell slowly in love, but eventually Ivy would prefer risking her life than killing Bishop, and I absolutely love that.
Bravo Amy. Beautiful debut novel that left me hungry for more.
BUT FOR REALS THO. NOVEMBER NEEDS TO COME SO MUCH SOONER.
Also it is a testament to how amaze the novel is when I read it in just three days, but more like two. Such a fast novel.
THIS BOOK IS THE TRUEST OF AMAZES. IT IS PURE AMAZE.
