This was a wonderful story. Not quite magical realism, but definitely in the realm. The novel is the story of Lisa, a girl who disappears one night into the woods behind her house. The chapters alternate between the missing girl in the days leading up to her disappearance, and Phoebe, a woman dating her brother Sam years later. The reader follows along as Phoebe unwinds the tale of what happened to Lisa - and what's happening to her and Sam in the present day. I liked it quite a lot - good characters and a great story that pulled me along and kept my interest. I highly recommend this.
