Kyutaro's battle with himself is interesting in how it contrasts with Fumi's. Kyutaro's doubts are more centered, like a dark flower suddenly blooming inside of him and then slithering into and infecting his mind, whereas Fumi's are locked behind a door, and when that door is opened, they explode inside of her and take over her entire personality, only being able to come back to herself with the help of a grounder on the outside. Kyutaro also needs help recentering himself after his attack, and in this volume, the way he does so is quite adorable. It really brings home the message that after a hard attack like that, rest and a chance to take a breather are essential and not something to be disregarded or brushed aside. Then, there's the bombshell dropped of who the Komori actually is -- what a twist!
