This is Rainbow Rowell at her absolute best, in my opinion.

My favorite books I've read were by her (Attachments, Landline, and of course, Fangirl). However, she is a somewhat complicated writer (re: the Eleanor & Park fiasco) and I'm far from interested in reading anything related to Simon Snow. I read and fell in love with Rowell when I was in high school and haven't been very interested in her work since. I hope that she returns to adult contemporary books again.
